Sleeping Car Ride Thoughts

Experience is the best teacher in life. Either it’ll smack you right after a mistake is made or time will pass and a gentle reminder will find it’s way to you.

Yesterday morning I had to wake up at 2am to drive 8 hours straight for a work assignment…after getting to bed at 10pm the night before. Hours 1-3 in the car were probably some of my worst driving I’ve ever done. Moving back and forth in my lane, inconsistent speeds, and eyes that felt like anchors.

Finally after 3 hours of driving I found an open McDonald’s and broke my coffee fast of the last 6 months, and it hit me like a brick. That coffee may have saved my life, or at least my car’s. I was lucky with how experience reminded me, by just a few terrifying dreams while I drove my car at 75mph.

Life Lesson: Get sleep. Also thank you coffee. I will never leave your side again.
